XtremIO 6.2 Web UI – Additional intelligence at your fingertips
In XtremIO Version additional intelligence has been added to the Web UI.
First of all, the popular Weekly Patterns widget has been promoted to the Dashboard. The Weekly Patterns widgets allows you to track your relative weekly traffic. Weekly or daily peaks can be easily identified. In addition, clicking on the Unusual Behavior button will allow you to easily determine any anomalies in your traffic. The Unusual Behavior button will highlight if your current traffic is either higher or lower than the average traffic demonstrated in the past 8 weeks. It will also present by how much (percentage number) is the anomaly deviance.
XtremIO has been providing the Top Performing Volumes and Initiator Groups for some time. This allows customers to determine which storage objects are consuming the highest IOPS or Bandwidth, or demonstrating the highest latencies. Following customer inputs, and the high adoption of our Consistency Groups object usage, we have added in Version 6.2 also the Top Performing Consistency Groups calculations. Customers can now easily see which application Consistency Groups are consuming the highest system resources (IOPS or BW).
In version 6.2 we have also introduced a dedicated Top Performers report. This report allows you to select a specific point in time, for example a time with a demonstrated peak, and understand which Volumes, Initiator Groups, or Consistency Groups was the cause of this performance peak.
Having the ability to easily determine which storage applications and objects are the cause of a performance peak, provides a Storage Administrator tremendous troubleshooting powers. In case that a performance peak happened in the past (for example, during the night), the Storage Admin can easily identify the culprits using the Top Performers dedicated report.
In order to better understand a Cluster’s behavior, it is necessary to understand which applications are running on the array. Different applications have different DRR and Performance patterns. For example, Databases are highly Compressible, while Virtual Server environments display high Deduplication rates. XtremIO has added to version 6.2 the ability to classify storage volumes by Application Type. Once the storage objects have been classified by Application Type, the Storage Admin can easily identify which application types are running on his array. In addition, he can then review the iCDM (Integrated Copy Management) policies for the different Application Types.
Lastly, we have also added a widget to the main UI dashboard that shows you the replication Bandwidth
